On September 2, 2020, the Indian government outlawed PUBG Mobile. The game was released by Krafton as Battlegrounds Mobile India after 10 months (BGMI). BGMI has since been taken down from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Due to Google and Apple removing Battlegrounds Mobile India from their respective app stores, the wildly popular smartphone game has been outlawed in India.
However, if you already have the game downloaded to your smartphone, you can continue to play it until the government compels Krafton, the game's producer, to shut it down permanently.
The formal justification for the game's ban in India still hasn't been given by the government. However, Google India formally acknowledged that they had been given a government directive to take down the BGMI game.
Google India stated, "Upon receiving the ruling, in accordance with established procedure, we have notified the impacted developer and have stopped access to the app that remained on the Play Store in India.
