PCS Syllabus 2022 features
The PCS exam syllabus for the Prelims Exam is almost identical to that of the UPSC IAS Prelims exam. The only difference is in the optional subject papers, where candidates can choose from a list of subjects provided by the commission.
The Main examination comprises of 4 General Studies papers and 1 paper each from the optional subjects. There is also an Essay paper and a paper on General Hindi. The interview will test the candidate’s suitability for public service and will carry 100 marks. Candidates must note that there is a vast difference between the old and new PCS exam pattern.
The old exam had 5 compulsory papers in the Main examination, while the new exam has only 4 GS papers. Further, the old exam had 2 optional papers while the new exam has only 1. Candidates must also note that there is a change in the marking scheme and negative marking has been introduced in the Prelims Exam.

UPPSC PCS 2022 Selection Process for ACF & RFO
The Selection will be depended on the candidate’s overall performance in the selection stages. So candidates need to collect the required updates on the UPPSC Selection Process and then prepare for the examination. The UPPSC conducts the PCS Exam in 3 stages:
Prelims – 2 papers – objective type questions (MCQs)
Two; Paper 1 – General Studies I Paper 2 – General Studies II (CSAT)

Maximum Marks
Both Papers will be of 200 marks each. However, only Paper 1 will be considered for merit ranking Paper 2 is a qualifying paper on the lines of IAS Prelims (33% qualifying criteria)

Negative Marking
As per the new UPPSC exam pattern, there will be 0.33% negative marking for every incorrect answer. Filling multiple circles on the OMR sheet for the same question would be treated as an incorrect answer. There is no negative marking for leaving a question blank
